2019-12-29 It is the time of the year again to wish all a Happy and Prosperous New Year! May all scale new heights in Xiangqi. The 2019 archives are now out too.
2019-12-27: The boards that have been uploaded the past week are now out. It is almost the new year and I thank all for the support that I have received last year. Xiangqi has made more headway into the international community during the past year, as can be seen from my various posts. I have published 7 books during 2019, and am in the process of writing a new book on history. Four hundred pages have been written and I think it is about slightly more than half done. I hope that my work would serve to really introduce Xiangqi to the West. I have been encouraged by quotations from my Lexicon on the French Wikipedia page on Xiangqi and I hope that more momentum can be gained.
I will take a short 1-2wks break but the daily boards will go on. Wishing you a new vibrant 2020!

2019-10-11: The game records of Round 7 and Round 8, and also the Women's semifinals and finals, of the 2019 Prored 16th WXF Championships are now out. The links that were given below still work. The files that have been uploaded the past wk are now out on the site. The WXF championships is now drawing to an end. Have fun.

2019-10-04: The boards that have been uploaded the past week are now out, on the site and also on Youtube. So has the latest video on my Youtube Channel. It has also been a busy week trying to 'cover' the AXF with help from my Malaysian friends. And the World Xiangqi Championships will be up next.
2019-09-27: The boards that have been uploaded the past week are now out, on the site and also on Youtube. And I wish to thank the folks who have sent me email letters over the years for encouragement. I have uploaded more than 2000 videos since I started the Youtube channel a few years ago. So far, I see slow but steady growth and I hope more people will make use of the 'video database' that I am building there. I don't know how long I can go on but will try to keep on doing it. Thanks to everyone. Also working on the latest book, Plum Flower Springs. So far over 300 pages have been completed, and there are about 200 pages to go.

2019-09-13: The boards that have been uploaded the past week are now out. Was bored with the usual Hu Ronghua routine, and decided to do a video of a commentary on a match that was played in the 2005 A League which has also been uploaded to both Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. The AXF Championships are around the corner, and the World Xiangqi Federation Xiangqi Championships will be held in early October. Going to be a few exciting months ahead!

2019-08-23: The boards that have been uploaded the past week are now out. The first board of Chapter 5 of Hu Ronghua's Sandwiched Horse Defense Treatise has been uploaded too. Please check out the videos on Youtube. The latest Xiangqi classic, Lan Ke Shen Ji is also now out. Note: It is not to be mistaken with Lan Ke Zhen Ji which is another ancient manual. The axe shown on the cover page has something to do with the title as will be explained in the book. This book is relatively simple, but there are quite some mistakes whereby modern-day Xiangqi experts have made modifications. There were several versions to it but I have chosen to use the puzzles given in Yang Mingzhong's Encyclopedia of Xiangqi Manuals as the backbone and main reference. Xie Xiaxun's Encyclopedia of Xiangqi Manuals has also been referenced. I have also prepared the boards for the site, but they will need some time to be entirely uploaded. Thanks.

2018-12-28: This post would be the last one in 2018. Again, it has been a hectic year for me with Xiangqi. The site has finally hit 2500+ pages and still going strong. It is quite an achievement that I am proud of, as I have never expected the site to last so long.
Yet for Xiangqi, there is still so much to do! Wishing all a fruitful new year ahead!
