Central Cannon vs. Three Step Tiger with Deferred Opposite Direction Cannons

In the ancient times, other than the Same Direction Cannons, the Opposite Direction Cannons was often played by Black. Unfortunately, it has been proven over time to be inadequate against the Central Cannon. Modern-day opening theory has seen that Black would now defer playing the Opposite Direction Cannons to a later date. Instead, Black would adopt the Three Step Tiger to allow for faster development of his Chariot or the Left Cannon Blockade where he would gamble everything by attaking Red's flank very early. Sometimes, Black would counter with the Deferred Opposite Direction Cannons or other variations.

This opening system has grown in popularity. Notable experts include Chinese Master Jin Song et cetera. It is a very aggressive opening system which players with an aggressive nature love very much.
