Cross Palace Cannons from QiYi 07

An article devoted to the Cross Palace Cannons appeared about a decade ago on QiYi, perhaps the most widely read XiangQi periodical in China or Chinese speaking regions ago. Grandmasters came together to provide their insights on the various black counters against the CPC. It is one of the best articles I have read in a long time on opening theory. I think you will feel the same way. The article was titled 過宮炮七式, or translated loosely, the Seven Stances of the Cross Palace Cannon. Have fun!

In this seventh and last article in the series, the CPC goes up against the central cannon with a riverbank chariot. This is a relatively new variation. The reader is encouraged to go here for more from the ancient manuscripts...

Two boards have been given for you to compare variations.
