This is the first page on cannon and pawn endgames and also the third page in the chapter. 1c1p is pit against the elephant. They may look simple but if you do not know how to win and what tactics to use, a sure win would be impossible and a draw might become a loss.
The endgames may look simple but do not be deceived.
PS: It is way past midnight now, and my mind is not clear. I tried to add some of the variations as the book did not give the final kill. If there are mistakes, please tell me. I have also added some footnotes for the beginner to help understand the boards more clearly.
