One Chariot endgames 07

1r hw 1c2e, 1r pw 1c2e  (3 examples)
In this section, one chariot vs one cannon and 2 elephants are discussed.
This is a tricky endgame. The pressure is on the cannon side. If defended correctly, it will be a draw. The cannon side must not allow any piece to be captured. There are two basic formations for which it must move into.
For the chariot side, to win , it must try to control 4 pieces with just one chariot. One key element is to force the king to be in the throat file where it might block the elephants and there is much less room for the cannon to move. There are a few examples given for positional wins.
